– A fire at LLC Segezha Packaging’s Saransk mill has brought the entire production operations to a standstill. The fire broke out close to midnight on 19 August and destroyed the paper sacks production plant. No employees were injured.
The Investlesprom subsidiary reports that the investigation into the cause of the fire has not been concluded yet and it is too early to put a figure on the cost of the damage. The company has transferred production partly to the Segezha facility and is working from the assumption that there will be no shortfalls in deliveries to customers, though delays are to be expected.
With 130 employees, Segezha Packaging Saransk has had an annual output of approximately 100 million sacks and has been producing particularly for industrial buyers in Russia since 2008.
