Coreboard prices edge higher on the Italian market in September

Coreboard demand on the domestic market was reported as relatively stable over the past few months. Higher prices sometimes instituted in September were reportedly fuelled by healthy demand on export markets.

After a stable July and August, the Italian coreboard market showed first signs of the tide turning when it came to prices in September. Although market players often mentioned the possibility of prices rising from October onwards, some coreboard producers were already able to tack on more in September.

Coreboard buyers told EUWID that prices had risen by just a couple of euros at most, if at all. Major converters, in particular, said that they were still handing over the same amount for coreboard in September. Indeed, smaller core mills tended to be affected by the price increases.

Insiders did agree that all buyers would have to dig deeper into their pockets during October at the latest. Most talks were still in progress, sometimes for deliveries in the second half of October.
