Coreboard prices in Italy slightly up in June

Against the backdrop of rising recovered paper prices in the past few months, coreboard manufacturers have announced price increases on the Italian market which have partially been implemented.

Coreboard has become more expensive in Italy. Several manufacturers got in touch with their customers during the second quarter to inform them of plans to invoice more and a part of the increase actually took hold on the market.

June deliveries often already took place at the new prices. In some instances, the mark-up or a portion of it was pushed back to July, a number of market insiders found. Yet, all insiders agreed that the higher prices will apply across the board.

A number of core producers were upset about board suppliers' endeavours and described them as unnecessary. For their part, coreboard manufacturers argued that their raw material costs had surged in the past few months. Order books were also good, they added.
