Fire hits Fedrigoni paper mill in Verona

Fire halts uncoated woodfree and specialty paper production at Fedrigoni's paper mill in Verona. Situation under control, the company says.

Italy's paper maker Fedrigoni has suspended production at its Verona paper mill due to a fire yesterday afternoon. No casualties were reported.

According to Fedrigoni, the situation is completely under control. The fire affected a limited part of the production premises and the company expects to resume production within a few days. The cost of the damage is still being assessed.

Fedrigoni runs two paper machines at the Verona site in Italy. In 2013, Verona paper mill employed 257 staff and produced some 73,000 t of specialty and woodfree uncoated papers.
