First LWC magazine paper contracts signed in Germany

|

The first contracts signed for LWC magazine paper were disillusioning for the industry. The hikes that manufacturers had been calling for until recently could not be implemented. EUWID respondents were irritated that buyers were adopting a take-it-or-leave-it-attitude and were not open for discussions. In light of the prevailing impression that paper is quickly and easily available, securing volumes is not that much of a priority. The latest contracts signed for LWC offset paper, which are valid for six months for the most part, had unchanged prices in many cases. In the next round of negotiations and under the influence of the shutdowns in several mills, paper producers are expecting to have a better chance of success.
