Coreboard in Germany could become more expensive as from the beginning of October. A price hike has been officially announced but according to reports not all converters have been informed of such a move.

As expected by core producers, the first official announcement of price increases for coreboard in Germany has now been made. The hike is set to take effect from 1 October. The customer industry in Germany had suspected that board producers would take advantage of their strong activity levels in order to improve price levels.

However, the most recent market survey also found that by the third week of September not all core manufacturers had been informed of price increases effective 1 October and that not all producers had announced price increases yet. Furthermore, a few companies report having longer-term contracts that extend beyond 1 October. But the majority are monthly or - at most - quarterly contracts, meaning that the lion's share of the contracts are expiring at the end of September.
