Amid persisting tightness in kraftliner supply in Europe, two manufacturers have announced new increases for mid-July and August.
At the beginning of June Smurfit Kappa Group informed its customers of its intention to increase prices for white and brown kraftliner by €50/t in all European markets from 17 July. Yesterday SCA announced its plans to hike prices for white and brown kraftliner in Europe, also by €50/t, but valid from 1 August.
Given the very tight supply of kraftliner in Europe, experts believe suppliers stand a good chance at putting these higher prices through.
