Mondi's Boards have approved major investment in new PM, decisions on other projects to be made in the course of this year.
After having announced last year to build a new containerboard machine at its Ružomberok mill in Slovakia, the company's Boards have now approved the €310m project. Start-up of the new machine, which is to produce a new grade called "kraft top white" and which will have a capacity of 300,000 tpy, is scheduled for 2019. The project would be started 2017, Mondi explained in its report on annual results.
Mondi will also pursue other major projects such as replacing the recovery boiler at its Štĕtí mill in the Czech Republic and the installation of a 90,000 tpy kraft paper machine at one of its central European sites. Mondi said that it expected to make a final decision on these projects during the course of 2016.
