OpenGate to buy Norampac Avot-Vallée in France

Norampac, a subsidiary of the Canadian Cascades group, is parting with its only European plant in Blendecques in the north of France. The buyer of the mill, which trades under the name of Norampac Avot-Vallée S.A.S., is private investment company OpenGate Capital, which had taken over the Finnish Kotka mill and the laminating paper business of the Tainionkoski plant and the Malaysia subsidiary from Stora Enso only last year. The value of the transaction was not disclosed. Norampac Avot-Vallée S.A.S. produces 145,000 tpy of white testliner.
