PM 1 at Seyfert Descartes down for four weeks

Seyfert’s paper mill in France will lose about 400 tpd of production due to a damage on its PM 1. The plant’s other machine is running normally.

Part of the post drying section of the recycled containerboard machine PM 1 at Seyfert Paper SAS in Descartes, France, was damaged, the machine will therefore be down for approximately four weeks, the company told EUWID. The machine was stopped on April 20, the company however was not able to comment on the reasons for the damage. Seyfert said that production losses will amount to about 400 tpd, the mill’s PM 4 will however continue to run normally.

Descartes recycled containerboard mill had deliveries of 178,000 t in 2011. In addition, Seyfert runs eight corrugated board plants in France and Germany, which had combined deliveries of 212.000 t in 2011, as well as a packaging service company in Monheim, Germany.
