Poland: Recovered paper prices stable despite broad availability in July

Ordinary grades were readily available on the Polish market in July despite the summer holiday season.

Nonetheless prices for these grades have held steady in July since the decline in May. Prices for sorted graphic paper for deinking also remained unchanged in July, but some merchants believe these prices could go up in August. In particular demand from German paper mills seemed to be picking up, they explained.

The widening price gap between ordinary and higher grades makes sorting more worthwhile, so some waste management companies told EUWID they were stepping up their sorting activities.
