Poland reports price cuts for recovered paper

|

Weak demand in Poland and on its neighbouring countries' markets sparked an additional wave of price cuts on the Polish recovered paper market in the fourth quarter. Slow business for the converters of sorted graphic paper for deinking meant that prices for these grades fell especially sharply by up to PLN100/t. Prices for other grades had tumbled by a total of PLN50-60/t in October and November. Larger reductions were often offered for export orders.

Decent December business that a few recovered paper suppliers are hoping for would hardly be enough to turn around this negative trend on the Polish market. EUWID sources suspect that RCP prices will continue to slide until at least the end of this year.
