Prices for hardwood pulp heading north in November

Due to the Euro-US dollar exchange rate development, Euro countries have to pay notably higher prices for pulp in November.

The exchange rate development has also thwarted softwood pulp producers' plans to increase prices in dollar terms. So prices for NBSK and SBSK in dollar terms remained unchanged.

Prices for hardwood pulp are heading north. Eucalyptus pulp manufacturers already achieved first minor price increases in October and more small upward adjustments appear to have been possible in November. Prices of mixed hardwood pulp are also slightly going up in November.
