Recovered paper prices pointing higher in Germany

|

German prices for ordinary and medium recovered paper grades moved up in many instances in March. Higher RCP grades sold at higher prices as well, except for white woodfree uncoated shavings which remained unchanged from February.

Prices for mixed paper have increased in March on the back of higher demand. Supermarket paper and board moved higher by few euros as well, however, some prices are said to have remained unchanged against the previous month. Higher mark-ups have been reported for newspapers and sorted graphic paper for deinking.
According to EUWID respondents, Far East prices exports notably weakened at the very beginning of March just to bounce back to previous levels in the second week of the month. A big problem that is repeatedly being mentioned in the export business is the container shortage which does not allow RCP merchants to ship more volume to China.
