SCA to acquire Asian hygiene products manufacturer

SCA is set to acquire the Taiwanese hygiene products manufacturer Everbeauty in order to strengthen its position in Asia. A binding offer has already been made but it was subject to Everbeauty being privatised under Taiwanese law, SCA said. Closing of the deal worth SEK1.9bn ( $290m) on a debt-free basis was expected for the summer 2012.
According to SCA, Everebeauty is a leading Asian personal care products company. The incontinence products and baby diapers manufacturer is running production facilities in Taiwan and China and is supplying to the markets in China, Taiwan and Southeast Asia. In 2010 Everbeauty had sales of SEK1.6bn, SCA said.
