SCA’s restructuring programme moving ahead

SCA’s CEO and President Jan Johansson said that the company’s cost saving programme would affect about 2000 employees, mainly within the group’s Hygiene business. The programme has a cost of SEK1.4bn, savings will be SEK700m per year when it will be finalised, mainly in Hygiene, partly in Packaging and to a marginal extent in Forest operations. He said that SCA would reduce the number of machines, however, there would be no mill closures in Europe.
