From 2016, Siam Paper subsidiary Thai Paper Co. will be the first release liner producer in the ASEAN region.
Siam Cement Group (SCG) PLC announced that the Siam Paper subsidiary Thai Paper Co. Ltd. was starting release-liner production in Baan Pong mill in Rachaburi. The company reports that a total of THB1.82bn (approximately €40m) is to be invested in the conversion of the existing paper machine producing coated papers. Sights have been set on a capacity of 60,000 tpy from the second quarter of 2016.
This investment makes SCG the first manufacturer of release liner in the ASEAN region. Demand for release liner is expected to rise by 6% in Asia in the next five to ten years.
