Prices for newsprint in the UK are increasing from July onward after market players quickly concluded talks.
The pro-Brexit vote and the subsequent drop in the pound Sterling against the euro and dollar have prompted manufacturers to take action in a few sectors of the British paper and board market.
The largest and most immediate changes have emerged on the newsprint market where prices increased from 1 July onward in talks that were wrapped up relatively quickly.
The new prices will often apply for the entire second half of the year, as is customary. However, quite a number of producers have forged quarterly contracts, leaving the door open to revisiting prices with effect from 1 October.
