Demand for newsprint in Italy satisfactory

Most suppliers were generally satisfied with the development of the Italian market for newsprint in October. Business with the traditional publishing customers was usually described as stable or declining. However, suppliers reported they were able to benefit from rising demand for newsprint from commercial printing. Due to the ongoing weak consumer climate in Italy, retailers had been printing more advertising inserts to attract customers’ attention to their products, EUWID was told.
