Austria-based international technology group Andritz has signed an agreement to acquire the Italian engineering company A.Celli Paper.
A.Celli Paper is headquartered in Tassignano near Lucca, and runs two more production facilities and offices in Pinerolo, Italy and Shanghai, China. The company has a staff of more than 100 people and a turnover in the range of €70m.
A.Celli Paper specializes in the design and production of technological solutions for tissue, paper, board and packaging industries, offering complete turnkey plants, revamping and services, components and automation software.
The acquisition of A.Celli Paper is expected to expand Andritz's capabilities in key areas such as winding and rewinding technologies. This will make Andritz "a leading full line supplier from fiber to the packaged paper rolls, while also strengthening our service business,” said Andritz Executive VP Paper and Textiles Alexander Wassermann.
