Bracell commences dissolving pulp production at Lençóis Paulista mill

In September 2021, Bracell's Lençóis Paulista mill completed the erection and commissioning of two flexible hardwood fibre lines which are geared for a capaciity of up to 2.8 million tpy of BEK pulp or 1.5 million tpy of eucalyptus-fibre based dissolving pulp (DP). In April 2022, the company started producing DP on one fibre line.

Bracell, a company of Royal Golden Eagle group, has commenced production of dissolving pulp on one of the two new fibre lines at the company's Lençóis Paulista mill in Brazil. High capacity with premium quality was reached within a few days after the production switch, Andritz said citing Bracell's Vice President Per Lindblom.

Andritz is the main supplier for Bracell's Project Star in Lençóis Paulista, São Paulo. Among other things, the company delivered a recovery boiler, a wood processing plant, two fibre lines and a pulp drying system including two pulp drying lines. Additional "key technology" such as evaporation plant and white liquor plant were supplied by Valmet.

RGE acquired the Lençóis Paulista mill frowm Lwarcel in 2018. Besides the two new fibre lines, the mill also houses an elder 250,000 tpy BEK pulp line.
