Mike Doss takes over from Clay Ellis as CEO of GCF.
Global Cellulose Fibers (GCF) announced the appointment of Mike Doss as Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective June 23, 2026. Clay Ellis will step down as CEO and assume the role of Board Advisor.
"The leadership transition reflects GCF's progression as an independent company and the Board's focus on supporting continuity while advancing the company's operating agenda to transform into a leading biomaterials business," the company stated. GCF was part of International Paper until last January when the company was acquired by American Industrial Partners.
GCF operates seven pulp mills and two converting facilities that produce fluff pulp, paper grade pulp, and specialty pulp. The products are used in a wide range of consumer applications, including diapers and other hygiene products, as well as tissue, towel, and specialty paper applications. GCF employs approximately 3,300 people across eight countries and generated annual sales of approximately $2.5bn in 2025.
