Graphic Packaging International (GPI) has completed a major upgrade at its packaging plant in Poznań, Poland. The company says it has invested in six state-of-the-art equipment solutions to strengthen the site’s position as one of Europe’s leading production facilities for high-end beauty and high-efficiency food packaging.
According to GPI, both market segments place high demands on innovation and performance. Beauty brands are under pressure to meet growing consumer expectations for quality and sustainability, while food brands must adapt quickly to changing economic conditions and consumer demand.
The investment includes expanded capacity for premium paperboard packaging used in perfumes, skincare and other beauty products. GPI reports that new print and finishing technology offers multiple varnish options and inline cold foiling in a single pass.
Enhanced brand protection features include a new coding technology enabling serialized QR codes, high-resolution digital fingerprints and fluorescent inks. Combined with 100 per cent inline inspection, these features are designed to strengthen product traceability and safeguard brand integrity.
For the food and private-label segments, the Poznań upgrade focuses on automation, robotics and process optimisation to improve output and cost efficiency. New high-performance printing presses and packaging lines are expected to support high-volume, low-waste and scalable production.
