Following a reorganisation of the business, Ahlstrom will get a new CEO. Helen Mets will head the company in the future.

Finnish company Ahlstrom has appointed Helen Mets as its new President and CEO. She will take over the position on 1 January 2023, succeeding Hans Sohlström, who has been the company's President and CEO for the last five years and will leave Ahlstrom at the end of December.

Ahlstrom says the change is connected to the company entering the next phase of growth and transformation. The company, which had been trading under the name of Ahlstrom-Munksjö until early October, was recently restructured. It spinned of its decor paper business, which now forms a new company named Munksjö, and took into use its new business name Ahlstrom.

Ahlstrom describes itself as the global leader in fibre-based specialty materials. It includes the five divisions Filtration, Food & Consumer Packaging, Healthcare, Building Materials, and Technical Materials. The company employs 7,000 people and generated pro forma net sales of €2.6bn in 2021.
