Italy’s Cartonpack takes over packaging distributor Agrypack

Italian paper and plastics packaging manufacturer Cartonpack Group has acquired distribution company Agrypack, also located in Italy. The two companies offer packaging solutions for the food and fresh produce sectors, in particular.

Agrypack has been a long-standing commercial partner of Cartonpack and was now integrated into the group, a press release says. Simone Turrini remains at the helm of the acquired company.

The takeover is to strengthen Cartonpack’s activities in northern Italy, where Agrypack is said to have developed a strong presence. Agrypack is based in Verona and is a distributor of packaging solutions for the fresh produce and agri-food sectors.

Cartonpack provides multi-material packaging solutions to the European market. Its portfolio includes corrugated and solid board packaging, moulded fibre packaging, as well as flexible and rigid plastics packaging for the food sector, particularly for fresh produce. The group has nine subsidiaries in Italy, Spain and the UK and employs around 750 people. Cartonpack itself is owned by private equity investment fund A&M Capital Europe.
