Kabel Premium Pulp & Paper has restarted one of the two paper machines at the Hagen plant after a shutdown. The manufacturer of LWC and MWC filed for insolvency proceedings on 6 March and temporarily halted operations.
However, the PM 5 at the LWC and MWC paper manufacturer has been fully operational again since Friday, 14 March 2025, with plans to also start up PM 4 at the site. Kabel Premium Pulp & Paper plans to resume parallel operation of both machines in the course of this week, according to a statement.
The company operates two paper machines with a total capacity of 450,000 tpy and has 420 employees. Recently Kabel produced up to 300,000 tpy of LWC and MWC.
In a statement Kabel said it was optimistic about the future. Partners, key accounts, suppliers and customers are showing their trust and support for the company in these challenging times with orders and a stable supply chain, Kabel said.
