Leipa temporarily suspends operations at Schrobenhausen mill due to flooding

High water in parts of southern Germany has also affected Leipa Group's Bavarian site in Schrobenhausen. The company had to suspend operations at the mill until further notice.

The Schrobenhausen site was evacuated on the evening of 1 June and operations were stopped for the time being, Leipa informs. The paper and cardboard manufacturer will continue to monitor the situation in the coming days and take the necessary steps to resume operations, the company added.

There have been no injuries as a result of the flooding. As the persistently high water levels of the Paar river still prevent access to large parts of the plant, it was too early to make a precise assessment of the damage, the company said.

At the Schrobenhausen site, Leipa operates a cartonboard machine with a production capacity of around 125,000 tpy of greyboard. The "Flexibles" division is also located at the Bavarian site.
