The Leipa Group will restart cartonboard production at its Schrobenhausen mill in Bavaria, Germany in the course of this week. A Leipa spokesperson told EUWID on 11 June that preparations for the recommissioning of the board machine and the power plant were already underway.
At the beginning of the month, Leipa had to suspend production in Schrobenhausen as the plant was severely affected by the flooding in parts of southern Germany. Most of the clean-up work had now been completed, the spokesperson said. Production at the Flexibles division, which is also located at the site, had already resumed last week, she added.
In Schrobenhausen, Leipa produces unlined chipboard on one machine with a capacity of around 125,000 tpy.
