
The UK’s largest independent supplier of corrugated packaging Logson Group has bought a majority shareholding in Durham Box, an independent sheet plant based in Bishop Auckland near Durham.
According to Durham Box's website, the business has 85 staff and manufactures 40 million products per year.
David Richardson, Logson Group CEO commented: "Durham Box is a great addition to the Logson family, and we are pleased to have acquired the business allowing us to expand our reach into the North East of the country."
The existing management team will continue to lead Durham Box as a stand-alone business within the Logson Group and will join the existing Logson Group’s brands of Board24, Boxes and Packaging, Cases24, Jardin Corrugated, Red Rose Packaging, Boxshop and The Cardboard Box Company.
Logson Group, based in Coalville, Leicestershire, has an annual turnover of over £400m and employs over 1,200 people.
