MM Packaging sells Leeuwarden plant to Grenadier Packaging

Mayr‑Melnhof Packaging has sold its folding carton plant in Leeuwarden to UK-based Grenadier Packaging.

Grenadier, a producer of cartonboard and corrugated packaging and part of the Grenadier Holding, will continue to operate the established site in the Netherlands. The plant employs around 50 people and maintains long-standing customer relationships both in its domestic market and across Europe.

According to the information available, the site will be run as an independent operation under its new owners. High-quality folding cartons will remain the core business.

Grenadier did not disclose the financial terms of the transaction.

Grenadier Packaging has already expanded through acquisitions and is continuing to explore further strategic opportunities. Most recently, in April 2025, the company acquired the UK folding carton producer Kentmere Packaging.
