Navigator to hike packaging paper prices as of April

Portugal's The Navigator Company is set to increase the sales prices of its packaging paper portfolio by 4-7 per cent. The price hike is effective with orders shipping 1 April 2025 onwards, the company announced.

The Navigator Company (Navigator), part of Portugal's Semapa Group, is Europe's largest producer of woodfree uncoated paper. The company also produces tissue paper and different eucalyptus fibre-based packaging papers, especially kraft paper for flexible packaging, bag and fill and form packaging segments, but also for box applications.

According to the company, input costs in paper manufacturing, pulp and energy in first place, have experienced significant increases over the last months, making it necessary to adjust sales prices.

Navigator has a total production capacity of 1.6 million tpy of paper and 1.5 million tpy of eucalyptus pulp, of which 80 per cent integrated into paper.
