Nefab acquires corrugated packaging producer Farusa Emballage

Swedish packaging producer Nefab Group is expanding its corrugated packaging business. The company annouced it acquired Farusa Emballage through its subsidiary Nefab Denmark.

Farusa is a small, family-owned company specialised in the production and sale of heavy-duty corrugated products and solutions. The company primarily serves export-oriented customers with transport packaging in Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Iceland and Greenland. Its portfolio also includes products such as shock absorbing inserts and wooden and plastic pallets, amongst others.

Farusa operates one production site in Farum, close to Copenhagen, where it also has its headquarters. The company also runs a sales office in Lomma in Sweden. It has a total of 15 employees.

For Nefab, the acquisition marks a step forward in expanding its fibre-based packaging solutions. "With this acquisition, we are solidifying Nefab’s position in the Nordic market and enhancing our ability to provide fiber-based solutions to industry customers," comments Per Öhagen, President and CEO of the Nefab Group.

Besides paper-based packaging, the company also manufactures wood and plastic packaging and offers logistics solutions. Following the acquisition of Farusa Emballage, the Nefab Group now comprises nearly 5,000 employees across 38 countries, with an annual turnover exceeding SEK10bn.
