Swedish packaging producer Nefab Group has expanded in Slovakia by taking over packaging producer Vallos.
"With this significant acquisition, we are reinforcing Nefab’s market position in the Slovakia region while boosting our ability to support customers in critical sectors such as lithium-ion batteries (LiB), datacom, and energy," said Per Öhagen, the group's President and CEO, in a press release.
Vallos specialises in the development and production of complex custom-made packaging solutions made from different materials, such as corrugated packaging and foam inserts and fixations. The company provides industrial packaging for the automotive, mechanical engineering and electrical industries in particular. It runs one production site in Žilina in the northern part of the country.
Nefab is a global provider of industrial packaging, logistics and digital services. Its portfolio includes paper-based, plastic, plywood, wood and metal packaging for various sectors such as the healthcare, mining and construction, telecom and energy sectors. Following the acquisition of Vallos, the Nefab Group says it now comprises nearly 5,300 employees across 39 countries and expects to generate an annual sales exceeding SEK10bn.
Last year, Nefab already drove its expansion through several acquisitions. In Spain, the company acquired heavy-duty packaging manufacturer Embalajes Echeberria and plastic packaging producer Plasticos Flome. It also took over Danish supplier of heavy-duty corrugated products Farusa Emballage. Towards the end of the year, the group acquired the two manufacturers of wood packaging Jase Packaging and Heuman Verpakkingen in the Netherlands.
