Spanish paper and packaging supplier Saica Group has announced a €7.1m (£6m) investment at its Wigan site in the UK, aimed at upgrading equipment and bolstering local employment.
This strategic move underlines Saica’s commitment to strengthening its presence in the UK market. The Wigan site plays a key role in Saica’s operations, supplying a range of sustainable packaging solutions.
The investment will fund the installation of state-of-the-art machinery, aimed at enhancing the facility's production capabilities and efficiency. Saica's latest project will lead to the creation of 20 new jobs in Wigan, Saica stated. The company anticipates that the upgraded equipment will be operational later this year.
Saica Group continues to expand its footprint in the UK market. Only recently has the company announced plans to invest £10m in a new warehouse at its Hartlepool site in the Northeast of England. The latest investment is part of a broader strategy to meet growing demand for sustainable and innovative packaging solutions in the UK.
