SCA's new kraftliner machine PM 2 at the Obbola mill in northern Sweden is up and running. According to the company, trial runs started in the third quarter and the machine entered continuous production (24/7) in the fourth quarter, one quarter ahead of schedule.
PM 2 was producing marketable paper and paper is already being delivered to the company's customers, SCA's President and CEO Ulf Larsson said during the presentation of company's third quarter 2022 results at the end of October. The fine tuning of the machine will continue over the coming quarters and SCA expects to ramp up the machine to full capacity in 2026.
