Italian tissue paper and products company Paperdì has been given the go-ahead by the authorities of the Campania region for the expansion of its existing Cartiera di Pietramelara mill. Paperdì plans to install an additional tissue machine and double the mill’s capacity at the Pietramelara site north of Naples.
Cartiera di Pietramelara runs one tissue machine PM 1 that has a capacity of some 34,000 tpy. In line with the approval received on 24 July, the company is now authorised to install a second tissue machine and raise the output by another 34,000 tpy. The implementation of the project will probably commence in September, but it is not yet clear when the new tissue machine PM 4 will be started up....
