Unipak Hellas to install new RCCM machine in Greece

Indevco subsidiary Unipak Hellas is set to increase its production capacity for recycled corrugated case material. A new Toscotec-supplied PM will produce testliner and recycled fluting grades at the Pelasgia mill.

Greek integrated paper and packaging company Unipak Hellas, a company of the Indevco Group, is building a new paper machine to increase production capacity for recycled corrugated case materials. Italy's machine engineering and technology company Toscotec announced that a complete production line is being delivered and installed at the Pelasgia paper mill run by Unipak Hellas Central, and that the paper machine was expected to be commissioned soon.

Toscotec did not reveal the value of the deal nor the production capacity of the new RCCM machine.

According to Toscotec, the new machine has a wire width of 3,000 mm and will run at a maximum construction speed of 800 m/min. It will produce 100 per cent recycled corrugated case material in basis weights of 90 to 200 m². Unipak Hellas reportedly aims to sell the testliner and recycled fluting grades to customers on the domestic and export markets.

"Toscotec has been selected as the main machinery supplier [...]. Indevco, through its engineering company Phoenix, will realize all the auxiliary plants," Toscotec said.

The scope of the order also included engineering, erection supervision, commissioning, training and start-up assistance, Toscotec explained.
