UPM plans to shut down for good the SC and improved newsprint paper mill in Ettringen and reduce production capacity for publication paper in Germany.
With the closure UPM Communication Papers is looking to align its paper capacity with profitable customer demand, the company said. In Ettringen, UPM runs one paper machine producing 270,000 tpy of uncoated publication paper. The mill focuses on SC paper production, but also produces newsprint and improved newsprint....
