Velvet Care starts up new tissue machine at Klucze mill in Poland

Polish tissue paper and products manufacturer Velvet Care has commissioned the new tissue machine TM 9 at the mill in Klucze in mid-December. The capacity expansion is a response to increasing demand for sanitary and household paper products and aims at strengthening the company’s market position in Poland and abroad.

The new Valmet Advantage DCT tissue line with a working width of 5.6 m and a working speed of 2,200 m/min is geared for a production capacity of 70,000 tpy. With four tissue machines in total, the Klucze paper mill now produces 210,000 tpy of tissue, according to Velvet Care. "The launch of the new machine is another step in the implementation of the Velvet Care Group’s development strategy, which responds to the growing market demand for high-quality tissue products," the company announced.

Velvet Care currently employs around 1,270 people across the group, of which 1,150 in Poland and 120 in the Czech Republic. The group generated sales revenue of €347m in the 2024 business year.
