Ahlstrom will close its spunlace composite production line at the Chirnside plant in UK. The company blames its decision to stop producing nonwovens used in medical and wipes applications as well as for the automotive industry on PM 23 on the low level of activity being not sufficient to support the line’s economic viability. The closure is slated for the end of March next year.
