Ahlstrom is going to sell the property of its idled Ascoli plant in Italy for approximately €4m to the Italian company Eurocomet. According to the Finnish specialty materials company, the corresponding agreement has already been signed and applies to the mill's grounds, buildings and some other assets. The transaction is scheduled for completion in the second quarter 2011. Ahlstrom says Eurocomet will dismantle the site and develop it for other purposes than paper making. Most of the machinery is to be scrapped.
