Celulosa Arauco y Constitución S.A. has had to stop production at its Valdivia pulp mill in the south of Chile on 6 March due to a severe drought. According to company sources, water level of the river Rio Cruces, which feeds the 550,000 tpy Valdivia facility, is currently too low and it is difficult to predict when operations can be restarted again.
