Gapcon's Italian branch is not part of the deal and will remain within the Irle Group of companies.

Gebr. Bellmer GmbH Maschinenfabrik has acquired the paper machinery and equipment supplier Gapcon from the Irle Group. The deal does not include the Italian branch of Gapcon and its 30 employees. Gapcon Italy will remain within the Irle group and specialise in making tissue machinery.

Gapcon's remaining branches, together with some 100 employees, will be transferred to Bellmer and will do business as Bellmer Gapcon GmbH in the future. Its locations in Willich (Germany), St. Pölten (Austria) and Calcutta (India) would be retained, the company explained. Gapcon's Chinese branch in Shanghai would merge with Bellmer's Shanghai site. According to Bellmer, the deal ideally complements its existing product and services portfolio.

Gapcon founders Wolfgang Wiertz and Wolfgang Mark would stay on as  managing directors of the company.
