Billerud Korsnäs on track with BM 7 investment at Gruvön mill

Billerud Kornäs' new board machine is expected to start up in April and produce 240,000 t in 2019.

Billerud Korsnäs has almost completed the biggest investment in the company's history. The new board machine at the Gruvön mill is designed for a production capacity of 550,000 tpy and will produce liquid packaging board, folding boxboard, food service board and white-top kraftliner.

According to Billerud Korsnäs, civil works were completed in December last year and the machine is expected to be assembled during February. The machine will be started up in March with and commence trial runs with "stock on wire" in April.

By the end of the year, BM 7 is expected to have produced up to 240,000 tpy o board and liner grades. The company projects output for the next year at 390,000 tpy.
