Higher prices will apply to all "contractual and non-contractual business" as of 1 June.

Italy's Burgo Group is set to increase prices for its entire range of fine and publication papers on the European market. The decision was motivated by the ongoing production cost increases, especially pulp, energy and chemicals, Burgo said.

The company is asking for a 15 per cent price hike for coated mechanical papers (LWC, MWC) for all deliveries as of 1 June. The price hike for woodfree coated and uncoated paper grades amounts to 10 per cent. Higher prices "will be applied to all contractual and non-contractual businesses," Burgo announced.

This is Burgo's second price increase announcement for woodfree paper grades this year. In mid-January, the group already announced it was going to hike CWF and UWF paper prices by 50 €/t effective 1 March.
