Many sectors of Italy's paper market are currently embroiled in discussions and preparations for price increases. Manufacturers normally pointed to spiralling raw material and energy costs that made elevating sales prices inevitable. Woodfree coated paper producers planned to charge 5-8% more for deliveries from the middle of March or the start of April, but they seem to have had little success so far with the exception of just a small number of transactions. Producers told EUWID that they are going to pursue talks with buyers with greater intensity in April.
