Sheeting operations at Metsä Board’s Gohrsmühle plant in Germany are interrupted due to a fire that broke out early this morning.
Metsä Board’s Gohrsmühle plant is on fire. The fire had broken out in the reel warehouse of the site early this morning, the company reported. At 9.45am, it had reportedly not been extinguished yet. Board stocks in the warehouse are said to have burned down completely.
Folding boxboard sheeting operations at the plant would be stopped for some time as a result of the fire, Metsä Board said.Talking to EUWID, the company added it was still to early to assess the full extent of the damage but it could be weeks until the sheeting lines would be back in operation. Customers will be informed about the possible impacts on deliveries in due time. However, the manufacturer does not expect the fire to have any material impact on its total folding boxboard deliveries.
Metsä Board produces cast coated Chromolux papers at Gohrsmühle and has folding boxboard sheeting operations there which were launched in autumn 2012.
