A fire in the chip handling and pile area has halted production at Södra's pulp and sawmill in Mönsterås. According to Södra, the blaze is currently under control but it might take several days before the fires are finally extinguished. The cause and the extent of the damage are still unknown. Operations at the sawmill are expected to resume this week. The pulp mill will remain offline for a couple of weeks.
