At the end of November, business is still not living up to expectations in the packaging paper and board markets in Germany. And players do not anticipate any substantial changes in the demand situation before the end of the year, either.
November was significantly weaker than October, EUWID respondents said. Quotes for recycled corrugated case material remain stable for now, despite the difficult market conditions.
It appears the market for unlined chipboard (greyboard) in Germany has become somewhat chaotic.
On the one hand, there are reports of price reductions owing to excess supply.
On the other hand, converters say that they are having procurement problems due to machine idling by producers, which is leading to price increases.
