German coreboard producers seek higher prices in May

Coreboard manufacturers' plans are motivated by huge mark-ups in recovered paper prices over the last weeks.

Coreboard producers doing business on the market in Germany are keen to increase their prices for deliveries as of the start or mid-May. The price hikes were direly needed to offset the increase in recycled-fibre costs, according to coreboard industry representatives.

Cores and coreboard were highly sought-after in March and up until the middle of April before demand started slowing more and more.
